Updates

So it has been a while and I had a few minutes before my yoga class so I thought I would catch up. The 4th was relatively boring here....cold and rainy. The kids and I walked down to a park in our neighborhood where we could see the fireworks from the base. I have to say I am really quite thankful to live in the location we do because we get to avoid tons of traffic just being across the street from the base....it also doesn't hurt with gas being $4.31 a gallon, but thats another story. Anyway Saturday night we went to a friends house and grilled out and sang karaoke until 1am which was fun. And on Sunday the hubby came home, which was a surprise. Of course it will be short lived because unfortunately he will be leaving early for his next trip while we are in NY so we only have about 10 days with him. But it is better than nothing so I am definately not complaining.

Donnie and I are playing in the company golf tournament on Monday. Now for those of you that know me, I don't golf. The last time I picked up a golf club was with Katie in Andrews so many years ago and if I remember correctly, I was much better at driving the golf cart than actually hitting the ball....in fact I think one time I swung so hard I fell over! And I don't think my husband is much better, although he does own a set of clubs - go figure. So this tournament should be an adventure.... a full 18 holes of golf, but there is all you can eat food and beer so I guess that will keep us going. Regardless it should be alot of fun.

NY is coming up fast. We will be leaving next week. The kids are so excited. I think we are taking an overnight trip to Lake Placid and the Six Flags lodge and theme park while we are there. Can't wait. The day after we get back, Tyler's cousin (he's not really his cousin but we are like family and it is just easier to describe him that way) is coming to visit for 8 days. Tyler is thrilled because we have not seen them in over a year. So far this has been a very busy summer and before I know it it will be time to go back to school (thank goodness for my sanity). So I will post pics later on of our family adventures this week and update soon.

Yes, you do remember correctly on golfing. I think we laughed for hours. Have fun in NY!
